Saturday Farm Camp: Growers // April
Farm Camp seeks to inspire mindful food choices and environmental stewardship through exploring, working, cooking and eating together on an active farm.
This is a one-day, camp-style program for 2nd and 3rd grade “Growers” to learn about how things work on our farm and explore life cycles and patterns in nature. Stone Barns educators engage kids in seasonal farm activities like harvesting or egg-collecting and make connections between soil and plate. Campers will participate in a cooking activity to prepare and eat lunch based on what’s growing on the farm and will take home recipes to be shared.
This program is timed with the Cooking at Home with Kids program so that adults can drop kids off while they enjoy their own class.
Please note that kids should come dressed appropriately for the weather and outdoor activity.
