Spring Break Farm Camp: Growers
Farm Camp seeks to inspire mindful food choices and environmental stewardship through exploring, working, cooking and eating together on an active farm.
In this drop-off day camp, 2nd and 3rd grade “Growers” learn about how things work on our farm and explore life cycles and patterns in nature. Stone Barns educators engage kids in an array of edible activities, journaling, cooking and content-based games and crafts. Campers will also help our farmers with seasonal chores that may include egg-collecting, sheep care, honeybee observations and composting.
Campers will participate in a morning and afternoon cooking activity to prepare and eat a snack based on what’s growing on the farm. Kids will harvest some component of each meal and will take home recipes to be shared.
Please note that campers should bring a lunch and come dressed appropriately for the weather and outdoor activity.
